Wedding Minneapolis MN
Ashley and Jason’s Wedding Minneapolis MN was our second destination wedding for 2020, and I am so happy to see weddings back to some sort of normalcy again. Except for social distancing at the ceremony and people wearing masks when necessary, it was so awesome to shoot a full wedding. Wedding Minneapolis MN
I met Ashley and Jason in 2019 when my brother’s fiance, Lauren, called me saying that her best friend was looking for a wedding photographer, and they wanted to know more information!
We instantly clicked, and we were both very excited to work together. I flew out to Minnesota the day before the wedding, and traveling for weddings isn’t always the easiest thing to do, especially during this time, however, I made it, and it was so much fun! Except when I had to sprint through Chicago’s O’Hare Airport to catch my connection!
Their wedding day was amazing and magical. I had the pleasure of working with one of my really good friend’s Rachel from Rachel Elle Photography, who is local to the St. Paul/Minneapolis area. She is a fantastic photographer, she is exceptionally talented, and I cannot wait to work with her again. Wedding Minneapolis MN
THEIR WEDDING DAY
The day started with Jason and his guys! I hadn’t done groom prep in a while, so it was so nice to get back to shooting that again! Jason and his guys were so much fun to work with, and we had a great time just hanging out and taking photos. All the guys had custom jackets made with special lining inside, and Jason got his guys personalized sunglasses with wooden cases, which were an excellent gift idea!
Then I met up with Rachel and went over to the girls! Ashley’s details were BEAUTIFUL, and we spent SO much time getting different arrangements of images; we spent too much time on them, haha. Wedding Minneapolis MN
Her hair and makeup artist was a cousin of Ashley’s, but she is talented, and I recommend her to everyone! She did an unbelievable job with Ashley’s hair and make-up, AND she kept us on time, which NEVER happens!
Her robe shots and champagne was so much fun, expect when Ash couldn’t figure out how to open the bottle. Then we got dressed and went off to the first look! Wedding Minneapolis MN
THEIR FIRST LOOK AND PORTRAIT SESSION
Jason cried when he saw Ashley! Usually, the groom tries to keep it all in, but it’s makes for better moments when the groom sheds a tear. Ashley and Jason did their images at the Swinging Bridge in the suburbs of Minneapolis along the Mississippi River! It was a great location, and we got some AMAZING portraits!
Except for the time when Jason got stung by a wasp, which cut the session slightly short, but we still got a fantastic set of images. We were able to finish up the rest of their portraits at the venue, which was some of my favorite photos. Wedding Minneapolis MN
Ashley finally relaxed when she saw Jason, which eased her mind during the rest of their portrait session.
Ashley and Jason’s wedding ceremony was amazing. Even though it was in the gym at their community center, I do have to say that it was a beautiful ceremony. What I enjoyed the most about the ceremony was the different aspects that Ashley and Jason added to the ceremony.
Instead of sand, they used paint to show their lives coming together as one. Their officiant was hilarious and kept the crowd engaged throughout the entire ceremony.
Families were socially distanced from eachother, and the room was big enough where everyone felt comfortable being in the room.
Ashley’s neighbor Robert walked her down the aisle, and Jason’s mom walked him down. Their ring bearer and flower girl were adorable. The ring bearer saw a chance to run down the aisle, and that he did. He made it in record time!
From the ring exchange, vows, and, of course, their first kiss as husband and wife, the ceremony was delightful.
Ashley and Jason’s reception was so much fun! They had a DJ and all the formalities. From grand entrances, first dance, best man and maid of honor speeches, and garder & bouquet. It was so nice to see so many people having a good time and being able to capture a full reception again. I am happy that I had the opportunity to work and capture these amazing people from behind my camera. Wedding St. Paul MN
Ashley and Jason tied the knot on August 8, 2020, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Jennings. To many more years of love and happiness!
THEIR LOVE STORY!
Jason and Ashley at the “The Fireside Lounge Bar & Restuarant” while Ashley worked there, and Jason frequented the establishment. They fell in love with flirting with eachother and spending time together to build their relationship to what it is today. Wedding Minneapolis MN
Jason proposed to Ashley with her best friend, Lauren. Jason and Ashley went to St. Louis to visit Lauren while she was finishing up her senior year at McKendree University. They went to see the Gateway Arch in Downtown St. Louis, and Jason said to Ashley “Let’s go take some pictures on the grass over here,” and then he asked Ashley, “Do you wanna remember this day for the rest of our lives?”
He then followed up by getting down on one knee and proposing to Ashley! Ashley and Jason got engaged in May of 2019 in Downtown St. Louis. Wedding Minneapolis MN
