Engagement Session Asbury Park NJ

Char and David’s engagement session Asbury Park NJ was gorgeous. The love that these two have is beyond beautiful, and I cannot wait to tell you about their session and their love story.

I met Char and David earlier this year when they entered my free engagement session contest. They immediately took an interest in the brand and in me as a photographer, and that speaks volumes about people that I photograph. I was immediately drawn to these two, and I didn’t know why until I met with them for the first time. We got on a Zoom call and hit it off great. I’m pretty sure it was late, and I had already been going for hours with meetings, but it was all worth it. Engagement Session Asbury Park NJ

Their original engagement session date was rained out, so we pushed it to last week, and I cannot begin to tell you how much it was worth it. The weather was perfect, they were excellent, and the photos were perfect. I know perfection isn’t something you can achieve, but this was pretty darn close.

My vision for their engagement session was to involve A LOT of colors! Asbury Park and Boardwalk have a lot of colors. From the murals, to the buildings, and everything in between, the place is full of color. Engagement Session Asbury Park NJ

I have shot several engagement sessions there now, so this time I wanted to change it up a bit and go to places where I haven’t shot at before. My goal was to make this session unique and fun for Char and David and I can say I think we accomplished that very well.

Their pup, Wicket, is the cutest and most well-behaved pup I have ever met and had the pleasure of working with. She is two years old and just full of energy. Char even brought their mom with them and she is the sweetest woman ever. Love her to pieces. I am always welcome to family and friends coming on engagement sessions to see the magic happen and have a good time with us.

HOW THEY MET!

Char and David met in Flushing, Queens. They were meeting some friends in a bar they never go to. “Both of our friends were late to arrive, it got late, we started talking, took a walk around flushing, and have been inseparable ever since”

THEIR FIRST DATE

Char and David went on their first date to a Sushi place around the corner from where they met. “Our first date was so amazing! I met David at this lounge where he worked at, right in Flushing. He had a secret sushi spot around the corner and we were both hungry. I remember being so nervous I couldn’t look him in the eye!!”

“As soon as the food arrived I fumbled with the chopsticks and dropped the roll right in the soy sauce/wasabi mixture, making a mess all over my shirt! Well, that was it, I was like forget it! From there we ate with our hands, laughed at stories, and ordered seconds, and thirds!!! This was the beginning of our love for food and trying flavors together! We return there often!”

HOW THEY FELL IN LOVE

When I asked Char how they fell in love, this is what they told me. “Since day 1 we were inseparable. After our sushi date, it just solidified how comfortable we were with each other from the get!
From that time on, we spent almost every day together. We moved in together, and continue supporting each other on our endeavors in life and in our love.”

HOW DID DAVID PROPOSE?!

“We had spoken about marriage and engagement for a bit, and actually went together to go look at rings! Even though we decided together, it was up to David to choose when and where! It was killing me!” Engagement Session Asbury Park NJ

“The day before my birthday, February 5th, we were on our way to dinner; I admit I was a bit pouty, filled with anticipation for the upcoming engagement! David played it off like he had left the ring at home, making me think of waiting another day! To my surprise, at dinner, he pulled out the ring box to unveil our beautiful ring!”

David proposed to Char during dinner at a Latin fusion restaurant called Mojo, in Forest Hills, Queens.
