Jason and Lauren’s Engagement Session Long Beach Island NJ was such a fantastic session. Their session holds a lot of meaning to me, especially because I have known them since the beginning of their relationship.

Jason and I are fraternity brothers from Phi Mu Alpha and Lauren was a sister of Theta Kappa Chi. I was heavily involved in Greek organizations because of my photography business, so I knew them both separately before they met.

I remember the day Jason and Lauren got together. He was SO excited and he couldn’t stop talking about her. When I would see them together, I could see how happy they made eachother, and knowing Jason as long as I do, I knew that Lauren was the one for him. Engagement Session Long Beach Island NJ

THEIR ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Their engagement session was a huge success. After hearing that Lauren was worried about posing and how she would look in the images, to know that they had a great time and loved the images, made me so happy for them both.

The sunsets this summer in Long Beach Island are some of the best sunsets I have had in all the years I have been shooting. Jason and Lauren had such a great time. They were always laughing and always smiling.

Jason and Lauren are big hockey fans, so the Devils & Rangers rivalry had to come out in their images. Those were some of my favorites from the session. Engagement Session Long Beach Island NJ

HOW THEY MET

Jason and Lauren attended Montclair State University. Jason studied Music Education with a concentration in Voice and Lauren studied Education and received her Dual Certification/ Dual Teaching Degree. Then Jason went on to study Vocal Performance at the University of Houston.

But let’s flashback to 2015 when Jason and Lauren first met. Alpha Chi Rho, a greek fraternity at Montclair State University, was hosting a mixer event. Jason and some of his brothers were asked to DJ the event. Jason caught Lauren’s eye. She figured one way to talk to him was to request a song. Engagement Session Long Beach Island NJ

I asked Lauren which song she requested and she told me “How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris lol and he didn’t play it so I kept going up to ask and he was like “I will!” And then wouldn’t. (Which I now know that he didn’t play it on purpose so that I would keep coming up to ask and talk to him).

“By the end of the night, we had exchanged numbers! We have literally talked every single day since that night. We hung out on campus a few days later and then went on an official date a few days after that”

They met at the end of September 2015 and casually dated in October and then Jason asked Lauren to be his girlfriend in November of 2015 at her sorority’s 30th-anniversary event. When Jason asked Lauren to be his girlfriend, her response wasn’t “yes” it was “Finally”Engagement Session Long Beach Island NJ

THEIR LOVE STORY

I asked Jason and Lauren how they fell in love and Jason told me “Once we started going on dates, we established a very open and honest communication, which set a strong foundation for us. From there, it grew into love.”

He is very honest and will be very open about things to me. he is true to himself and what he feels, and he can recognize when he is doing something well, but can also recognize when he isn’t and be honest enough with himself to take a step back and make a change. he is also honest with me and will call me out, in a respectful way when I need it!”

HOW DID HE PROPOSE?!

When Jason moved to Texas in 2016 to study Vocal Performance, Lauren finished up her Undergrad at Montclair and then went to be with Jason down in Houston until he finished up his Grad Program.

They lived together for 2 years before Jason popped the question. He asked Lauren to marry him on Valentine’s Day at a local park in Houston. He proposed to her on a bridge overlooking a lake and fountain.
