Engagement Session Union Station Denver CO
Shannon & Alan’s Engagement Session Union Station Denver CO was fun, stellar & elegant. I don’t these two could take a bad photo. I was really able to go outside the box for these two!
No matter what pose we did for them, it worked so well, and their smiles are super infectious. Engagement Session Union Station Denver CO
Their love is so strong, and it translates SUPER well through the camera. I love the Alan looks at Shannon. I love the way that Shannon smiles back at Alan. It warms anyone’s heart.
We started at a swinging bridge a couple of blocks down from Union Station. Their outfits matched the winter feel their session portrayed.
Shannon’s hunter green dress popped with her cream-colored coat and matched Alan perfectly for their first look. It made the session feel elegant. Engagement Session Union Station Denver CO
We could get down the river and do some fun shots with reflections from the puddles in the ground. I absolutely love doing reflection shots with mirrors and puddles—some of my all-time favorite shots.
We were able to get some beautiful intimate shots with them. Sometimes we cannot get as many intimate shots with our couples! This time, we nailed it with these two!
We did an outfit change and moved over to Union Station. We had more fun poses in mind to do with their more casual outfits. We had so many fun and artsy photos with them.
We are honored to have worked with Shannon & Alan. We want to thank you so much for allowing us to capture your love story from behind our cameras.
Congratulations on your engagement, and we wish you nothing but the best for your marriage!
A LITTLE Q&A FOR THE BRIDE & GROOM
HOW DID YOU MEET?!
“Alan and I met in the summer of 2015 on May 22nd (Alans birthday). He had just graduated college and was working at Crop Restaurant and Brewery, now known as Idletyme Brewing co., before heading off to law school. I was home from college before my semester studying abroad and get a job as a server at the same restaurant.” Engagement Session Union Station Denver CO
“This is how we met and started our relationship, in reality we met at a very young age and our paths crossed several times but we just do not remember each other!”
“My best friend from elementary and middle school and his best friend from elementary school and on were cousins! Both of us would go to family events and BBQs but neither of us remember the other.”
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FIRST DATE!
“We both worked the lunch shift at work and afterwards we got changed and headed up to Burlington from Stowe! We walked by the water at Lake Champlain and went to dinner on Church Street (outdoor pedestrian mall). We walked the mall at night under the twinkle lights and talked the night away!” Engagement Session Union Station Denver CO
HOW DID YOU FALL IN LOVE?
“We honestly didn’t mean to fall in love. He was heading to law school and I was heading to England to study abroad. Our love just grew over the summer without us even knowing. About 2 weeks before I was set to leave for Euro, wend realized we didn’t want to be apart. Long distance seemed daunting but we quickly realized that we loved each other so much, it didn’t even matter.” Engagement Session Union Station Denver CO
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
“Alan proposed on our 5 year anniversary, July 12, 2020. He had been planning to propose for quite some time and asked my parents permission in 2019, but then covid hit.”
“He said he was convinced not to let that stop him. I on the other hand was clueless to the whole thing. He designed and bought the ring all online and did SO much research. Asked my friends for opinions and somehow no one let it slip to me!
We went to dinner at Flagstaff House in Boulder for our anniversary dinner. Afterwar, ds we went for a walk across the street to a place where we would sometimes look over the city and see the stars.”
“Alan said his plan was to propose in Vermont when we went to his, but could not due to covid and high risk of contracting because of his Cystic Fibrosis.”
“So instead he found a spot we loved in Boulder that also happened to be next to Green Mountain, which is meaningful because Vermont is the “Green Mountain state” so this was “as close to home as we could get.”
“As we were looking up at the stars I saw a shooting star! Which made me very excited. Little did I know Alan was kneeling down behind me. He tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around to see him on one knee with a ring box in his hand. Of course, I said yes! His friend was there waiting with a camera and took pictures of it all. He also had champagne waiting for us. Overall a very big surprise for me!”
