Rock Island Lake Club is a dreamy one of a kind wedding venue located in the Northwestern mountains of Sparta, New Jersey.

Surrounded by the lush mountains and situated on a secluded 11-acre lake, this venue will check all of your boxes.

What makes Rock Island Lake Club even more special is that they really make your day all about you!

They host only one wedding at a time so that you receive the undivided attention that your wedding day deserves.

A rustic charm envelopes Rock Island Lake Club with it’s stone and wood features, but with all the natural light you want from floor to ceiling windows.

Who doesn’t want the combination of outdoor space but also an elegant ballroom?

When it comes to the details, you’ll love the all inclusive and unique menu with many options to choose from!

Only an hour from New York City and the ability to host up to 200 guests, you will feel like you’ve traveled for a destination wedding with the ability to invite all your loved ones.

Needless to say, we think this venue perfectly suited our couple, Kim and Jeff, and we’re so honored to be a part of their sweet day.

Tom Russo Photography loves asking our couples questions about their wedding and letting them answer in their own words to share the experience.

Hear More From Our Couple

What was your most anticipated part of your wedding day?!
Having the entire day come together was something I could fully grasp until the morning of my wedding. It was always little pieces coming together here and there but not until we pulled into the venue and walked in to start hair and make up did it really set in that the day has finally arrived!

Did anything happen that was unexpected?!
We had a squall! It was the most magical, unexpected, freezing, picture perfect moment I could have ever asked for. It was exciting and made the day and first look moment even more special and something I will remember forever. It was great because the snow came and went so it didn’t effect our guests traveling but it made for the most amazing photos that my winter wedding dreams could have ever thought of.

Were you nervous?! How did you squash those nerves?!
I really wasn’t nervous- I was really excited for everything to come together. The one thing I kept saying on my wedding day was there was nothing more I could do at this point. All of my hard work will and did pay off and it made for the most perfect day of my life.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?!
an acoustic version of Somebody to Love- Queen (inside/story between Jeff and I)

What are you looking forward to most as a married couple?!
Getting back to relaxing game nights and traveling!

What was your wedding inspiration?!
My husbands, grandmothers, fur coat. I tried it on after she unfortunately passed away and when I looked at myself I said “I want to have a winter wedding and wear this coat”. That was really it, and that dream came true!

Favorite food from cocktail hour?!
(I wish we got to eat more but I really have no clue) it would have been dumplings if I had a chance to get to that station lol

What was your wedding song?!
Grow As We Go- Ben Platt

What song did you dance to with your parents?!
Jeff & Mom- What a wonderful world

How did you feel at the end of the day?!
RELIEF and happiness. I really had so much fun and I was so stressed leading up to the day of and I was so relieved that everything played out better then I could have planned.

Any advice for couples getting married?!
DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. Make decisions based on your gut feeling and keep moving forward. You will drive yourself crazy going back and forth with too many options and opinions. 9/10 times your initial gut feeling is right- trust it. and Have fun it really is over quick!
