Lezlee and Zach Wedding Orange Beach AL

Wedding Orange Beach AL

Lezlee and Zach’s wedding in Orange Beach, AL was our first official wedding of the year. This wedding was also my first of three destination weddings for 2020. I know that there is so much uncertainty in the world right now but knowing that life is returning to somewhat of normalcy or as we now know it to be the “new normal,” getting back to shooting a wedding feels really great and hopeful. Considering how this year has been going so far and weddings getting postponed left and right, it was really nice to get back out and shoot a wedding again! Lezlee and Zach are cousins of mine. I have an entire family who lives out in Missouri and we go and visit as much as we can. Wedding Orange Beach AL

Most of my friends don’t know that we have a whole set of family out there. Every time we are together, it is always a lot of fun and we create great memories together. So this wedding definitely held more meaning than most weddings I have done in the past because it is with family. Wedding Orange Beach AL

Their wedding was a little bit interesting, to say the least. We ended up doing their family and bridal party photos and their Bride and Groom portraits, underneath the overpass that connected the two parts of the island. Luckily, the rain passed and we were able to get out from underneath there and get some amazing portraits. Their ceremony was very simple. Everyone stood around in a semi-circle and they had their ceremony.

I am so happy that the weather held up for them. We were able to get them beach portraits after the ceremony; something they always wanted. Their wedding song was Keeper of the Stars by Tracy Byrd. Wedding Orange Beach AL

Family means everything to me and I am so honored to have captured their wedding.

LEZLEE AND ZACH

I want to thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day! I love you both dearly and I cannot wait to see you both again really soon. It was an honor for you to choose me to be your photographer and I cannot wait for all of your friends and family to see these beautiful images. We made memories that will last a lifetime. Enjoy all the images and cherish them forever. Lezlee and Zach tied the knot on Monday, June 22, 2020, in the Gulf Shores AL.

HOW THEY MET?!

Zach and Lezlee met on Tinder back in June of 2014. “We chatted for a month or so before exchanging phone numbers.” They text back and forth for a while and it wasn’t until two months later, they had their first date. “Just by chance, we actually wound up meeting the night before and the rest is history.” Zach took Lezlee on their first date to Longhorn Steakhouse and then to see a movie called Into The Storm. HOW DID HE PROPOSE?!

It was Christmas Eve morning in 2018 when Zach popped the question. “We had just opened up our eyes and I was cuddling our dog, trying to think about our day. He just rolled over and grabbed it out of his nightstand and said, “well, it’s time we do this!”

I remember that day very clearly. I remember hearing my mom screaming downstairs and saying “oh my god, I am so happy for you, congratulations!” So naturally, I ran downstairs to make sure everything was okay. Wedding Orange Beach AL

She was on FaceTime with Lezlee and we were all jumping around my house, excited for them both. The first thing Lezlee told me was that she wanted me to do their wedding, no matter what.

Well, flashforward eighteen months later and I had the honor of photographing their wedding. Wedding Orange Beach AL

WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST ABOUT THEIR WEDDING DAY?!

“We were honestly looking forward to everything. Getting ready with our friends and family, hugging loved ones, enjoying each other’s company. I just knew that Tom would capture every moment just how we wanted so I was also looking forward to spending time with him- especially since he’s family!”

“We were excited about pizza, dancing, and getting to spend time with our friends celebrating under the BREEZY, beautiful beach pavilion.”
