Maria and Thomas Wedding Deep Cut Gardens Middletown NJ were beautiful! They looked amazing, and I can’t believe how amazing these two did. Wedding Deep Cut Gardens Middletown NJ

Maria and Thomas had to postpone their reception to next August at The Grounds for Sculpture, but they still wanted to have their ceremony this year at Deep Cut Gardens. The grounds there are absolutely beautiful, and this being the first time I shot there, I cannot wait to get back there and shoot more sessions.

I met Maria and Thomas earlier this year when they entered a FREE engagement session contest that I ran. When we chatted about doing the engagement session, she asked if they could hire me for their wedding and do the ceremony in April and then the reception in August of 2020. But then COVID-19 hit, and it changed their original plans. So this year, they still wanted to get married on August 2, 2020, and then postpone the party to next year.

All I gotta say is that it was HOT. Luckily, we had a gentle breeze and the right amount of shade. Thomas and Maria’s family was so much fun, and they were real troopers with the heat. Wedding Deep Cut Gardens Middletown NJ

THEIR FIRST LOOK

Thomas and Maria’s first look was nice and short. They didn’t show much emotion but loved seeing eachother in their wedding attire. Maria looks BEAUTIFUL, and Thomas looks very handsome. Quick PRO TIP: if you’re getting married in the summer, I would suggest a linen suit for the groom. It’s lighter, and you won’t overheat.

Sometimes couples aren’t too sure what to do after their first look, so having your photographer guide you onto the next part of the photo process.

THEIR CEREMONY

I really enjoyed the intimacy of their ceremony and keeping it to close family and friends. They got married underneath the gazebo in the Rose Garden. Their officiant was amazing and she made the ceremony even more enjoyable!

Even though it was an informal ceremony, her Dad still walked her down the “aisle” and gave her away to Thomas.

Thomas and Maria chose to write their own vows. I think that holds SO much more meaning when a couple writes their own vows.

Their rings weren’t your traditional rings. They chose to have the silicon rings, which, if you know Thomas and Maria, that choice is something that suits them well.

THEIR PORTRAIT SESSION

If you didn’t know it, Thomas and Maria could definitely be models. These two ABSOLUTELY nailed their portrait session. I cannot begin to describe how much beautiful content Andrea and I were able to get.

Not having worked with them prior to their wedding portraits, these two did amazing in front of my camera. I was able to capture their love so easily and you can tell these two were made for the camera.

They wanted to incorporate their parent’s wedding photos, respectively, in their portraits and what better way than to get creative with the shot. They were down for everything we had in store for them and really nailed every pose. Couldn’t have asked for a better portrait session with these two!

THEIR LOVE STORY

Thomas and Maria met in Tinder after seeing eachother at the Gym for a while. Thomas told me when they matched, they both chuckled cause when they matched it gave them a reason to actually start seeing eachother more than just at the Gym.

When I asked how they fell in love, Maria’s answer was more meaningful than any other answer a couple has given for that question. She said “We both knew love was a choice and not just a feeling”

I absolutely love that she put it in those terms because it brings the definition of love to a whole new meaning. You can choose to love someone and also feel love for someone. Not just one or the other. Wedding Deep Cut Gardens Middletown NJ

Thomas and Maria proposed to each other by exchanging letters and gifts at the top of Mount Tammany at the Delaware Water Gap in November of 2019. Wedding Deep Cut Gardens Middletown NJ

They got married on August 2, 2020, and will be having their big celebration on August 1st, 2021, at the Grounds for Sculpture.
